Peter often travels by train from Kolkata to Mumbai. He works in a private firm called Dream Merchant. He is a marketing executive. In his home, he has his wife and son. He lives at Dhakuria in Kolkata. His company sells insurance. Generally he has no problem traveling alone in a train. He usually works in Kolkata and its adjoining areas. But this is the first time he had to leave Kolkata for his work.

On 31st December 2006, he boarded the train headed towards Mumbai. It was called Gitanjali Express. He had reservation. He waited in the platform and the train arrived as per schedule at 9 p.m. He boarded the train. In the train, there was a couple who also boarded the train. Besides the three of them, no one else was there in the compartment. As the train started with a whistle, he took out a book from his back. It was a novel written by the reputed writer Stephen King. Peter loves ghost stories very much. He often writes stories in his holidays.

Peter was reading the book. As he was absorbed in the reading, he heard a sound, a whispering sound and a giggling laughter. Then he noticed on the opposite side of his seat a couple was there. The man was around 40 years old and his wife 35 years old. The man was an obese gentleman with a big moustache. His eyes are red as if he had drunk wine quite a bit. In his hand, there is a bottle of McDowells. His wife is quite attractive wearing jeans and a T-shirt. They were talking and laughing. Again Peter tried to concentrate in his reading. He was reading the crucial moment in the ghost story when the main character had seen a ghost and was very frightened. Peter’s body hair is raised by the fear, the description of the ghost is wonderful!! He went on reading.

Peter decided to take his dinner. So he took out his tiffin box. Generally he does not prefer junk food. He is quite health conscious. He goes to gym regularly to be in shape. He took out his roti and a fish curry. He took his dinner. He went at the bathroom of the train compartment to wash his face.

He stood outside at the gate of the compartment watching the beautiful foggy landscape of Bihar in the night. Very few lights are there. Most of the time, the train passes through suburbs in the city. He heard some tribal songs. In the Jharkhand state, there are Santals and a lot of other tribes. He took out his packet of Wills and took a cigarette. He searched his pocket and found no lighter. He gasped, “Shit!!” He went towards his seat. He entered the room and saw that the pot-bellied husband was sleeping and his wife was having her dinner. He took his lighter from his pocket of his pant. He sat near the window. He asked the woman, “What is your name?” She replied, “Monalisa.” He asked, “Where do you stay?” She replied, “I stay at Nagpur. I have come to kolkata for passing the weekend in my father’s house. I work in an office there.”

After taking the cigarette, Peter went to sleep. Suddenly he heard the sound of footsteps. She saw the woman advanced towards him. Her face was red. Her eyes are red too. She had blood coming out of her mouth!!! He was surprised to see this. Her nails have become big. She came closer to Peter to suffocate him with a pillow. Peter was so surprised. He was unable to move. His legs froze. The woman gripped his throat tightly. She held it tightly till Peter could not respire. He died on the spot. Then the woman slit his throat with her razor-sharp teeth and drank some blood. The train guard arrived in the night to check the tickets. He was surprised to see it.

Monalisa jumped over the guard, threw him on floor and killed him also. She then slit his throat and drank some blood. She is like a Dracula. She drinks blood of man only. She went to another compartment where she saw three boys sleeping. She killed each one of them and drank their blood.

In the morning, when the train reached Mumbai. She boarded the platform as if nothing happened. She went to her home and resumed her normal activities. While the police searched for the culprit who committed such a dangerous murder, they found no evidence to catch the criminal!!
