During my higher secondary level (class XII), I studied anthropology as additional subject instead of maths. I studied science stream in Narasinha Dutt College, Howrah in West Bengal. I studied hard to get this fascinating subject as Hons so that I can pursue higher studies. I did my graduation in anthropology. It was quite fascinating to study anthropology. I studied the prehistoric man, measured the skulls in anthropometry, measured living human beings in somatoscopy. I studied how to test blood in man and also studied how to conduct a survey. In my 24 days of field work in Kolam tribe, I surveyed the tribe, took a lot of photographs, and interacted a lot with the people.
I studied along with this anthropology course, a foreign language called French from Alliance Francaise in Kolkata. I did my course under the guidance of Indian teachers who are trained in France. They have excellent French knowledge. I left French language after doing the first 8 months course. I got the Certificat du Francais Elementaire. I studied French passionately and did good result. I had to leave French as my parents told that it has not career prospect in India.
I then joined M.Sc. in anthropology under Calcutta University but left as I was doing another important thing. I was doing a course of job preparation of West Bengal Civil Service Examination. In the preliminary test, I could not qualify. So I thought it would be a tough process waiting for years for a government job. I decided to leave the M.Sc. for it. But eventually I left this masters degree and then went forward for a course in Medical transcription. I had to give Rs. 20,000 in 4 installments. I did qualify the entrance test. I did the test well. In the first time, I scored a little less than 70%, the required percentage. Then in the second test, I score the required and got the job.
I was a trainee in this company for 4 months and then I became permanent. I am working in the company whose name is INFOVISION SOFTWARE PRIVATE LIMITED. It is a good company. I now have a good rapport with the employees. The people are friendly. The seniors are good.
In my life, “NO TURNING BACK” should be the expression as I had to sacrifice something to get something rewarding!! Life should be such for everyone …. If one has to get something, I should sacrifice something.
Without sacrifice we cannot achieve something in life!!
