For a long time, I did not get any time to write something of my own. I went to Sundarban, a mangrove forest in West Bengal. As there was tremendous work pressure, I needed time to relax! So I opted for a short trip to Sundarban. It was 2 days and 1 night trip with the West Bengal Government Tourism. I wrote about this trip before and now I am writing about my life.
For the past 3 months, I have joined a distance learning course. It is postgraduate diploma in Hospital Management from a reputed hospital called Apollo Hospitals. First I went there 3 months ago and met a person called Mr. Palash Guha to enquire about the course. He told me that the course is 1 year duration been divided into 4 parts. The first part dealt with management. It was difficult for me to digest management in the first time. I have a background of anthropology as Hons from Calcutta University, West Bengal (India). I also did a course on science journalism from Indian Science News Association. The course was a 10 weeks course on Science Communication and Media Practice as it was called. After the course, I had to write a project and a written exam. The classes were taken by reputed media persons from our country. The lectures were excellent. But one needed is initiative. One must have good communication skills and one must get the opportunity to apply his knowledge of science communication. I applied in many reputed newspapers but still got no response.
I am now juggling 3 things at a time!! I am doing my job of medical transcription from Infovision Software Private Limited in Kolkata. Along with that I am also doing my hospital management course. Now I have 9 months left. The first 3 months study is complete. I gave the online test and score 67% which the Medvarsity graded as average. Anyway life is tough as I had to do a 3 shift job and do the studies. Medvarsity is a distance learning center of Apollo Hospital. I also go to gym for 4 days in a week.
My father financed this course which costs Rs. 25,000. Being a responsible father, he always motivates me to work hard and score well. I started this course rather than other GENERAL courses which do not bring jobs. I could have studied English which might have been much easier. I could have got the guidance of my father who is a reader in English literature. He did his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University in West Bengal. He could have provided me with all relevant notes. Anyway I am trying hard to score between 80 and 90%. I am working hard for it.
I started going gym when I was in graduation studying anthropology. I continued my gym and now I am going there for more than 5 years. As I already mentioned I have the habit of juggling many things at a time. I go to gym, do my studies, write some blogs as I am writing now. I have many web pages, which I created.
I do a lot of socialization through internet. I am a member of myspace, hi5, worldfriends, orkut. I have blogs in O3 (Indiatimes blog), Associated Content, myspace, hi5, blogsource. I have 4 e-mail addresses in rediff, yahoo, indiatimes, and sify. I do surfing through broadband. I do find some time to chat through Orkut where I have now 104 friends and I also have yahoo messenger ID and rediff bol ID. Chatting with people around the world helps me to refresh my mind.
