The aquarium is an enclosure where fishes are kept and food is given to the fishes. Generally exotic fishes are kept here, fishes that have a variety of colors in their body are kept in aquarium to beautify the place where it is kept. In India, we have a wonderful museum at Kolkata, one of the major metropolitan city of India. It is called “Aquarium.” It is opposite to the Alipur Zoological Garden. In front of it is the reputed National Library of Kolkata.
I went to the Aquarium taking a bus from my home. I took 3D/1, the bus that goes straight to the Aquarium. My trip was about to be cancelled as there was a huge process on 18th February by RSP. I was about to come down from the bus but I saw the bus moving after a half an hour traffic jam. The bus moved quite fast and I reached there around 2:30 p.m. I started from my home around 1 p.m. on 18th February.
I reached the museum where at the entrance there was a huge sign board written “AQUARIUM.” This museum was established in 3rd December, 1977. It is under the West Bengal Government. The entrance fee in this museum is Rs. 3 only. The building is very old. It has not been repaired for a long time. The guard checked the ticket and allowed me to enter here. The entrance has a revolving gate.
As I entered the gallery, I saw as large number of aquariums. I studied the colorful fishes. The fishes which I studied in the wonderful Aquarium along with their places are as follows:

This aquarium has such large variety of colorful fishes but people seems to be interested more in zoological garden which is opposite to it!! I found it quite interesting. Even students of biological science will find it interesting and worth visiting. A chance to see such a large number of fishes around the world is worth remembering.
Why should people visit this Aquarium of Kolkata?
First of all, it gives you an exposure of fishes around the world.
Secondly, it makes you conscious of your underwater life.
Thirdly, it makes you feel good after a tiresome week in job or studies. It takes you into an underwater world.
Fourthly, a student of zoology or a school student gets interested into underwater life and would like to do study further and do research on the sea life.
